Job summary

Franklin Electric in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Co‑op to join our Engineering team. You will work on design, development, testing, and process improvements, under the guidance of experienced engineers, linking academics to real‑world challenges.

You will collect and analyze data, prepare technical documentation, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support project execution.

Qualifications

Pursuing an accredited bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing/Mechatronics or related).
Completion of foundational engineering coursework appropriate to the assignment is required.
Previous internship, co‑op, lab or hands‑on project experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist engineers with design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of products, systems, processes, and tooling.
Collect, analyze, and interpret engineering data to support validation, problem‑solving and decision‑making.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing) to support project execution and deliverables.
Prepare technical documentation and present project results, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
