Job summary

UW-Madison College of Engineering is seeking a Career Services Advisor within Engineering Career Services (ECS) to support students and alumni in securing internships, co-ops and full-time roles. You will coach on resumes, interviewing, networking, and career strategies while fostering industry and alumni connections.

The role involves developing programming, managing relationships with employers, and delivering career development resources across formats.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year in a student-facing/student services role in higher education.
• Experience creating, developing and managing programs for college students.
• Ability to work in teams and independently while delivering high-quality work.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Coaches students on career readiness topics and job search strategies.
• Guides students in developing professional skills and networks with industry partners and alumni.
• Supports expansion of Engineering Career Services reach and campus collaboration.
• Plans and executes events such as industry visits, student showcases and networking sessions.
• Maintains career engagement data and program records.
• Develops career development materials across multiple media to educate students.
