Job summary

The Palms at Plantation is seeking an Engineering Assistant to support the Director of Engineering in keeping the senior living community safe, attractive, and well‑maintained in Plantation, FL. This hands‑on role involves inspections, timely work orders, and preventative maintenance across building systems.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (GED) and at least 3 years of related maintenance or engineering experience, with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least three (3) years of related maintenance or engineering experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of general maintenance, machinery, tools, and repair techniques.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, fire panels, and other building systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of the building and grounds to identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Assist with completing maintenance and repair work orders in a timely manner.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on community equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair general maintenance issues and assist outside contractors with repairs as needed.
• Maintain resident apartments and common areas with minor repairs and upkeep.
• Assist with landscaping and grounds maintenance, including general cleanup.
