Job summary
TxDOT's Corpus Christi District seeks an Engineering Assistant I or II to oversee projects in the Alice Area Office. You will gain experience in project management, design review, and contract oversight to ensure construction meets plans and specifications.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science; substitutions allowed for Master's or Doctoral degrees per EAC/ABET.
- 1 year of Engineering related experience for Engineering Assistant II.
- Valid driver’s license and Safety Impact Certificate; EIT for II.
Responsibilities
- Actively prepares for professional engineering licensing/registration through training and exams.
- Applies engineering principles to transportation-related activities.
- Assists during emergencies and inclement weather.
- Assists with contract administration for construction and maintenance projects.
- Participates in the Engineering Assistant Career Development Program (EACDP).
- Performs construction inspection and material sampling/testing.
- Performs research and problem solving of engineering-related issues.
- Performs traffic barricade inspections and assists with traffic control plans.
