Job summary

Arizona State University seeks an energetic Academic Advising Supervisor for SEMTE's Undergraduate Advising team. You will lead staff, drive recruitment and retention, and ensure program success while aligning with university policies and strategic goals.

You will oversee onboarding, performance management, and day-to-day operations, partnering with managers, chairs, and administrators to advance student success and degree completion.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years or more of supervisory experience of professional staff within a higher education setting
• Knowledge of and experience with curriculum processes and higher education systems and related business principles
• Experience in higher education academic advising, including advising online and accelerated masters programs
• Experience in student outreach, recruitment, and retention initiatives
• Skills in project management and customer service
• Skill in written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated experience using good organizational skills
• Experience working with technical/specification writing and documentation
• Experience with software applications including PeopleSoft, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and Salesforce
• Skill in applying the principles, techniques and methods of teamwork, compromise and collaboration to produce desired outcomes

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard, and manage performance of designated advising staff
• Lead and supervise academic advising services, recruitment, and retention efforts
• Set performance goals for staff and act as team leader
• Collaborate with management to implement policies supporting college and university goals
• Act as liaison to students, faculty, staff, and committees
• Use data to evaluate program efficacy and strategy
• Create internal docs for training and development of staff
• Understand university policies and procedures
• Manage projects and long-range planning with academic professionals
• Represent the department on university committees
• Provide day-to-day direction and escalation for issues
