Entergy Corporation in Arkansas is seeking an Engineer I–Sr. to support power distribution design, planning, maintenance, and emergency restoration. Responsibilities span grid design, asset management, reliability, and root cause analysis to improve system performance.
The role requires knowledge of engineering principles, teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure. 24‑hour call duties and potential travel for storm response are expected.
Position may be filled as Engineer I, II, III, or Sr. depending on qualifications and experience.
Responsible for engineering design and support for power distribution. Performs a wide variety of planning, maintenance, and design engineering activities related to routine, non‑routine, and emergency restoration duties. Project areas may include grid/system design, operations and maintenance, planning, asset management, reliability, computer applications, safety, and root cause failure analysis.
Minimum Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial) from a four‑year accredited institution.
• Degrees in engineering technology from a four‑year accredited institution with PE may be considered.
• Preferred: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil.
Minimum Experience
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledgeable of engineering principles. Ability to understand and comply with procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area. Good leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, math, and project management skills. Good knowledge of PC operations and related software. Familiar with National Electrical Safety Codes and National Electrical Code. Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities, work well under pressure, work safely and follow all safety policies, recognize and mitigate hazards, deliver high‑level customer service, support a diverse and inclusive work environment, and enact process improvement.
Certificates, Licenses, etc.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Working Conditions
Must be available for 24‑hour call out and extended hours as necessary. Additional hours, alternate locations, or duties related to storms, outages, emergencies, or other company‑required situations may be required. Exempt employees may not receive overtime payment for such duties.
