Job summary

WSB in Tulsa, Oklahoma is seeking a Professional Engineer with a transportation design background to join our growing team. You will lead design for roadways, drainage, and utilities for public and private clients, and coordinate with other groups to ensure high-quality results.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 4–10 years in transportation/municipal engineering, and an OK PE license or the ability to obtain one within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation/municipal projects.
• 4–10 years of experience in transportation/municipal engineering or related field.
• OK PE license or ability to obtain it within six months.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical documents; proficient with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week and in posted locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform design calculations, quantity and cost estimates, and plan preparation.
• Prepare, write, and edit technical reports, feasibility studies, letters, memos, and specifications.
• Assist with proposals, budgets, schedules, and public involvement.
• Oversee the work of EITs or Technicians.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate project activities to meet timelines and budgets.
• Maintain regular client communication, monitor project schedules and budgets, and coordinate subconsultants.

What You Will Do

• Lead design and coordination of roadway, drainage, and utility projects for our public and private clients
• Collaborate with other groups/ disciplines within the company to deliver top quality projects and unparalleled service to our clients
• Perform design calculations, quantity and cost estimates, and plan preparation
• Compile, write, and edit quality technical reports, feasibility reports, letters, memos and specifications for projects
• Assist with proposals, project budgets and schedules, planning activities, and public involvement and other presentation opportunities
• Oversee the work of EITs or Technicians
• Plan, direct, and coordinate project activities to ensure that projects are delivered within prescribed time frames and budgets
• Regular communication with the client, project schedule and budget oversight and subconsultant coordination

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar degree from an accredited school
• 4-10 years of experience in Transportation / Municipal engineering or related field
• OK PE license or the ability to obtain their license within six months
• Prepare, read and understand construction plans and technical documents and have a functional understanding of design software packages, preferably AutoCAD Civil 3D and / or Microstation, and HydroCAD.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic will allow you to excel in this position
• Ability to work 40 hours a week.
• Ability to work in posted locations
• Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment, occasional travel or field visits may be required to support
