Buchart Horn in Pittsburgh is seeking a Civil Engineer with 3+ years in transportation to advance toward a Project Manager role while deepening technical expertise.

You will support the design and delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects, gaining hands-on experience in coordination, client communications, and project execution, working with senior leaders to fast-track progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• EIT certification required.
• 3+ years of experience in transportation or civil engineering.
• Actively pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of state DOT design standards and AASHTO guidelines.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.

Responsabilités

• Learn from experienced Project Managers.
• Develop Project Management skills such as scope, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Perform engineering calculations for roadway and transportation projects.
• Develop plans, profiles, and design drawings using MicroStation.
• Work with Project Managers in day-to-day project execution and client communication.
• Participate in client and internal meetings to support planning and delivery.
• Respond to RFIs, review submittals, edit specifications, and contribute to cost estimates.
• Conduct site visits, field reviews, and assist with construction-phase services.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
• Support proposal development with the Business Development Unit.
• Fast track learning to increase responsibility for project components and coordination.

Buchart Horn is seeking a motivated and growth-oriented Civil Engineer to join our Transportation Strategic Business Unit team. This role is designed for individuals with 3+ years of experience who are ready to take the next step toward project management while continuing to build strong technical expertise.

In this position, you'll support the design and delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects while gaining hands‑on experience in project coordination, client interaction, and overall project execution. You'll work closely with Buchart Horn's Project Managers and Senior Leaders to develop the skills needed to fast track into a Project Manager role.

What You'll Do:

• Learn from experienced Project Managers

• Perform and review engineering calculations for roadway and transportation projects
