Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an Engineer Technician in Training to join our Operations team on a Lancaster, TX project. This full-time role offers hands-on training and exposure to surveying and field operations.

You will assist Field Engineers with robotic total station instruments, perform construction layout by setting stakes, marks and elevations, and help maintain equipment. On-the-job training is included and overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Individuals must have reliable transportation.
• Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
• Willingness to travel and work on site in varied conditions.

About the Role

We are looking for an Engineer Technician in Training to join our Operations team on our project in Lancaster, TX. This is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting Field Engineers in operating robotic total station instruments, auto level and other surveying instruments.
• Perform construction layout by setting stakes, marking lines, elevations, grades, and reference points.
• This position will include on the job training.
• Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools. Provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues and lead team to complete daily tasks at the jobsite.

Qualifications Required

• Ideal candidates for this position will possess previous construction experience but not required.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
• Individuals must be able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment.
• Willingness to travel

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials Layout equipment of all shapes and sizes weighing up to approximately 50lbs.
• Work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, and can see & hear well either naturally or with correction.
• Must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
