Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an Engineer Technician in Training to join our Operations team on a project in Hampton, GA. This is a full-time role that supports field engineers and assists with survey instruments and data collection.

Ideal candidates have 6 months to 1 year of construction exposure, can read drawings, follow safety protocols (OSHA 10, fall protection), and are able to lift up to 100 lbs. The position offers growth, competitive benefits, and on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6 mos. to 1 year of construction exposure and know-how reading drawings.
• OSHA 10, fall protection and other safety training is preferred.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift 50-100 lbs.
• Capable of climbing ladders/scaffolds and working outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Engineers with operating surveying instruments and setting markers.
• Support building control, elevations, grades, and alignments on site.
• Maintain survey equipment and tools and ensure task ownership.
• Provide primary support to field supervision and help lead daily tasks at the jobsite.

About The Role

We are looking for a Engineer Technician in Training to join our Operations team on our project in Hampton, GA. This is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting Field Engineers in operating robotic total station instruments and auto level and other surveying instruments.
• Assisting with establishing building control, setting markers, lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions, and distances.
• Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools.
• Provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues and lead team to complete daily tasks at jobsite.

Qualifications

Required:

• Ideal candidates for this position will possess 6 mos. to 1 year of experience, able to read construction drawings and have training in construction safety protocols (i.e. OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platform, boom and scissor).
• Must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
• Work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, and can see & hear well either naturally or with correction.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50-100 lbs., 75% of the time.

Preferred

• Individuals must be able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment.
• Must be able to work outside.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours.
• Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
