Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking a Field Engineer Technician for our Lancaster, TX project. This full-time role supports the operations team with field surveying, layout, and instrument operation. On-the-job training will be provided, with emphasis on ownership of assigned tasks and teamwork.

The position requires overtime and weekend hours, reliable transportation, and a commitment to OSHA safety standards. Travel may be involved as projects vary across locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Engineers in operating robotic total station instruments, autolevel and other surveying instruments.
• Perform construction layout by setting stakes, marking lines, elevations, grades, and reference points.
• Position includes on-the-job training.
• Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools; provide primary support to field supervision and demonstrate ownership of tasks.

About the Role

We are looking for a Field Engineer Technician to join our Operations team o n our project in Lancaster, TX. This is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting Field Engineers in operating robotic total station instruments, autoleveland other surveying instruments.
• Perform construction layout by setting stakes, marking lines, elevations, grades, and reference points.
• This position will include on the job training.
• Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools. Provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues and lead team to complete daily tasks at the jobsite.

Physical Requirements :

• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials Layout equipment of all shapes and sizes weighing up to approximately 50lbs.
• Work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, and can see & hear well either naturally or with correction.
• Must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects, climb up/down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
