Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks a Structural Engineer to join the 52 Engineering team in Pascagoula, MS.

You will analyze and develop structural engineering specifications for metals, composites and other materials; perform damage tolerance, durability and loads analyses; utilize CATIA, IDEAS, and ProEngineer across multiple engineering domains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university with 2 years of experience.
  • Master of Science degree or above in Engineering from an ABET accredited university with 0 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, research and develop structural engineering specifications for metals, non-metallic or composite materials across structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical domains.
  • Assess damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling; apply tools like CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer.

The Role

Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications.

Must Have

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 2 years of experience

Master of Science degree or above in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 0 years of experience

Nice to Have

Finite Element Analysis and Hull Scantling Analysis Experience is preferred.
