Job summary

Verdantas LLC in Mentor, Ohio, is seeking an Engineering Staff II to join our civil-site and municipal engineering team. Recent graduates with 2–4 years of experience will collaborate on design, calculations, reports, and construction plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools.

You will work with mentors on municipal infrastructure projects, perform on-site inspections, support project managers, and contribute to cost estimates while growing in a people-first, growth-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 2–4 years of civil-site and municipal engineering experience.
• EIT preferred; familiarity with ArcGIS a plus.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical planning and design support on civil-site and municipal projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations and design reports.
• Create construction plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and local standards.
• Assist with permit submittals and project cost estimates.
• Support project managers and attend client/staff meetings.
• Conduct on-site inspections as needed.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical planning and design support on various utility projects that may include storm and sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution, and various other civil engineering projects
• Prepare engineering calculations to support design
• Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards
• Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD 3D Civil 3D
• Prepare plans and specifications for public bid
• Prepare/assist with permit submittals
• Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
• Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
• Document design changes and communications
• Conduct on-site inspections as needed
• Prepare project status and other reports
• Assist Project Managers
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
• 2-4 years of experience in civil-site and municipal engineering
• Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software is a plus
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred
• EIT Preferred
• Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus

Salary Range: The compensation range starts at $70,000 and is based on the position, experience, and licensure.
