Job summary

Verdantas LLC is seeking an Environmental Scientist II to join our Florida team. You will conduct field and laboratory tests on construction materials, inspect projects for standards compliance, collect and interpret data, and prepare detailed reports. This role supports engineers, travels to sites, and requires strong data accuracy and safety awareness.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of environmental, geotechnical, or construction-related fieldwork.
  • Familiarity with field sampling techniques, soil and groundwater testing, and use of field instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and lifting equipment as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection and documentation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and project managers.
  • Flexibility to travel to project sites and adapt to changing schedules.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from tests and inspections.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of findings.
  • Operate and maintain advanced field and laboratory equipment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of project plans and protocols.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and team members.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to the Project Manager/Supervisor.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

Salary Range: The starting salary for this position is $28.00 per hour, with final compensation determined based on qualifications and licensing status.
