Job summary

Verdantas LLC seeks a Land Development Project Engineer to join our Lehigh Valley or Wilkes-Barre, PA teams. You will tackle challenging site development, work with multidisciplinary teams, and engage directly with clients to move projects from concept through construction.

You are a motivated civil engineer with 4–8 years of land development experience, familiar with site design, stormwater, grading, and utilities, and proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D. PE is preferred or in progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
  • 4–8 years in civil engineering with land development/site design focus.
  • EIT certification required; PE license preferred or in progress.
  • Experience in land development plans and permit applications.
  • Knowledge of site layout, stormwater, grading, utilities, and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

  • Perform civil engineering design and analysis for land development projects (commercial, industrial, residential, etc.).
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate site development, grading, and utility plans and documents.
  • Design stormwater systems, drainage, erosion control, earthwork, roads, and utility infrastructure.
  • Coordinate permitting with municipal, county, and state agencies.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
  • Mentor junior engineers and staff; assist with proposals and reports.

We are seeking a Land Development Project Engineer to join our expanding multidisciplinary Land Services team in the Lehigh Valley, PA, or Wilkes-Barre, PA locations. This role is ideal for a motivated civil engineer who enjoys solving complex site development challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and working directly with clients to bring projects from concept through construction. What You'll Do:
  • Perform civil engineering design and technical analysis for a variety of land development projects, including commercial, industrial, institutional, residential, mixed-use, and energy developments
  • Prepare and review site development plans, grading plans, utility plans, and construction documents
  • Design and analyze stormwater management systems, drainage and conveyance infrastructure, erosion and sediment control measures, site grading and earthwork, roadway and access improvements, and utility infrastructure systems
  • Coordinate permitting efforts and prepare applications for municipal, county, and state review agencies
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and project delivery activities
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed
  • Assist with proposal preparation, technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff while continuing professional development
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 4-8 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development and site design
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress
  • Experience preparing land development plans and permit applications
  • Knowledge of site layout and design, stormwater management, grading and drainage design, utility infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, and local and state permitting processes
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing effectively to project teams

Salary Range: The compensation range starts at $86,000 and is based on the position, experience, and licensure.
