Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking an Engineer Specialist to lead traffic engineering and safety initiatives within the DOTI's TES team. You will guide analyses, design documents, and program delivery while supervising staff.

The role emphasizes Vision Zero, Safe Systems, data-driven decisions, and coordination with consultants, utilities, and agencies. A Bachelor's in engineering, 3+ years senior experience, and PE license are required.

TES includes two main work areas – 1) review & regulate; and 2) programmatic safety projects. This position will primarily focus on managing a team around TES’s programmatic safety project work – including work on Area Engineering, Pedestrian Crossing, Traffic Calming, Traffic Signal (corridor retiming), Bikeways, and Transit programs. This position will champion Vision Zero and the Safe Systems approach, bringing both deep technical expertise and proven management skills to foster innovation and sound project process, and support staff’s growth and development.This position will report directly to the TES Senior Manager. As the Engineer Specialist, you will:* **Provide technical, operational, and strategic direction** for traffic engineering analyses, planning efforts, design documents, and project implementation.
