Delta Air Lines is seeking an Engineer for propulsion engineering to support the MSP Engine Shop in an off-wing workscope role. You will provide technical direction, maintenance engineering support, and workscope development for engines such as PW2000 and CFM56-5A.

You will collaborate with maintenance, planning, and other stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient overhaul execution and contribute to future engine shop capability expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Provides powerplant engineering support for engines overhauled in MSP Engine Shop, including PW2000 and CFM56-5A.
• Assists maintenance with engineering tasks including troubleshooting, technical evaluation, repair development, and disposition support.
• Develops repairs to engine components to support safe shop execution.
• Partners with maintenance, planning, and other stakeholders to support safe, compliant overhaul execution.

Responsibilities

How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)

This position is for an Engineer within Propulsion Engineering supporting the MSP Engine Shop in an off-wing workscope role. The position supports all engines overhauled by the shop, including PW2000 and CFM56-5A engines, by providing technical direction, maintenance engineering support, and workscope development for inducted engines.

• Provides powerplant engineering support for all engines overhauled in the MSP Engine Shop, including PW2000 and CFM56-5A engines
• Assists maintenance with all tasks requiring engineering support, including troubleshooting, technical evaluation, repair development, and disposition support
• Provides oversight and technical direction for MSP inducted engines, including creation and management of engine workscopes
• Supports engine test cell findings by evaluating results, identifying required follow-up actions, and providing technical guidance to maintenance
• Develops repairs to engine components, including exhaust nozzles and other related hardware, as needed to support safe and efficient shop execution
• Provides engineering insight to maintenance in support of current shop activity and future engine shop capability expansion efforts
• Partners with maintenance, planning, and other stakeholders to support safe, compliant, and efficient overhaul execution

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• Previous Airline, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft engines
• Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems, 14 CFR 121 and 14 CFR 145 repair station regulations.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Experience with the repair or design of gas turbine or turbofan engine components
