Job summary

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The role involves development, prototyping, manufacturing, testing and mass production of small and medium caliber munitions within a collaborative environment.

You will design with Creo, ensure GD&T adherence, and support production through testing and documentation. The position requires strong communication, teamwork, and a minimum of five years of experience;

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for working in a team environment, geared toward the development, prototyping, manufacturing, testing and mass production of small caliber munitions.

What will you be doing?

This position will be a key member of the Small Caliber Munitions or Medium Caliber Munitions Division.

Duties Include

• Provide engineering support for the development and manufacturing of Small Caliber Munitions
• Support all aspects of design, prototype, testing and/or manufacturing
• Prepare designs using 3D CAD (Creo) modeling software
• Document designs using the Army's design standards and GD&T
• Write test plans and work closely with testing groups
• Develop and present briefings to the team as well as management
• Work with manufacturing teams to develop functional prototypes, develop pilot manufacturing processes, and/or develop production level manufacturing processes
• Be able to support mature designs currently in production
• Support travel as needed up to 25%

What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

This Position Will Require The Following Skillsets And Experience

• Pass drug and alcohol testing
• Must have good mechanical skills and at minimum 5 years of experience
• Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
• Knowledge of manufacturing principles and processes
• Experience with engineering software, including Creo CAD
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• High standard of quality and efficiency
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of weapons and firearms a plus
• Must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly
• Fluent in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Must have a valid NJ driver's license
