Job summary

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join the Munitions Systems Directorate at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The role is full-time on post, supporting small/medium caliber munitions teams with design, analysis, and production readiness.

You will create weapon designs, perform GD&T, run FEA, and coordinate TDP changes using CREO, ANSYS, and Windchill. Travel up to 20% and maintain documentation, reports, and collaboration with IPTs.

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional experience
• ASME Drawing practices (Y14.3, Y14.100)
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances
• CAD Modeling and component design – CREO, SolidWorks or similar
• Engineering Analysis - ANSYS, ABAQUS, LMS Virtual Lab or similar
• Programming environments MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, Excel VBA, Python
• Data processing, analysis, visualization
• Elective coursework in structural analysis
• Materials knowledge including heat treating and coatings
• Manufacturing processes understanding
• Welding processes and callouts
• Quality Assurance Provision preparations
• Travel up to 20%
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Multi-tasking and prioritization
• Government or contractor experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Participate in IPT meetings in person and via Teams
• Create weapon designs and drawings; analyze tolerance stacks
• Coordinate TDP changes with design engineers
• Use CREO, Windchill and other software to manage TDP changes
• Develop structural FE models using ANSYS and ABAQUS
• Post process data from instrumented testing to validate results
• Process engineering change proposals
• Other duties as assigned
