Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Murfreesboro, TN seeks an Engineer-in-Training IV to support civil site design for public and private developments. You will work with licensed engineers, landscape architects, and surveyors to develop plans for commercial and residential projects.

The role requires a BS in civil or agricultural engineering (ABET) and 3–4 years of civil design experience, EI/EIT or eligibility, plus proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office.

Qualifications

• BS in civil or agricultural engineering from ABET-accredited college/university.
• 3–4 years of civil design experience (site, commercial and/or residential).
• Tennessee EI/EIT or eligible for reciprocity.
• Experience with local jurisdiction entitlement and zoning, permitting processes.
• Experience with TDEC NOI permit applications and SWPPPs.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication; reliable and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Assist a Project Manager in producing project plans, specifications and cost estimates.
• Develop feasible design alternatives, compare parameters like alignments and ROW requirements.
• Identify design features and major alternatives to satisfy project purpose.
• Use computer-aided engineering/design software to prepare documents.
• Prepare technical reports and studies using company formats.
• Direct production work of technicians.
