Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers' Atlanta office seeks an Engineer-in-Training I to contribute to design, analysis, and implementation of civil projects under a licensed P.E.

The role supports project coordination, technical design, and compliance on grading, drainage, and site development; a strong applicant will have ABET-accredited degree and EIT or eligible within 12 months.

This entry-level position offers growth, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and opportunities to advance toward licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months from start date.
• Internship experience with a civil design firm is beneficial.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Reliability and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical reports, studies, and documentation using MS Office; review the work of engineering technicians to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative engineering solutions.
• Assist in design and preparation of plans for commercial, residential, and site development projects, focusing on grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
• Analyze design alternatives to address site constraints and meet client objectives.
• Collaborate on permitting and regulatory compliance for site development projects.
• Additional related duties as needed.
