Qualifications

• 0-3 years’ experience in Civil Engineering (field and design work).
• EIT preferred, ability to obtain it within 6-12 months.
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches and create multidiscipline drawings.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of design drawings, technical reports, and construction plans.
• Managing construction projects in the field, including inspections.
• Expected split between field work and office/remote work.

What You Will Do:

We have an excellent opportunity for an Engineer-in-Training/Designer on our Construction Services team in our Boston office. This exciting position combines civil and traffic engineering with construction management. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparation of design drawings, technical reports, construction plans, as well as managing construction projects in the field. and construction inspection of civil engineering projects. Candidates should anticipate an approximate split between field work and office/remote work on a weekly basis.

HSH Construction Services operates in a hybrid-office environment where employees are required to work at least one-day per week in the Boston office. Employees should expect their remaining work week to be a combination of site visits, work-from-home or one of our other offices.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s/Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
• 0-3 years’ experience in Civil Engineering (combination of field and design work)
• EIT is preferred and/or the ability to obtain it within six to twelve months
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, notes, calculations and verbal instructions, to create multidiscipline engineering drawings
• Experience with AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project
• Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work in team environment as an individual contributor
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to utilize critical thinking, judgment and experience to define, analyze and resolve problems and issues
• Some night, overnight, and weekend work may be required.
