Qualifications

• Relevant internship or 1-4 years’ experience in Traffic Engineering; recent grads considered.
• EIT preferred.
• Familiarity with MUTCD, HCM, HSM, and AASHTO standards a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior staff on engineering projects including traffic and safety analysis.
• Development of design plans, pavement marking, signage, and signal plans.
• Field data collection and proposal support.

What You Will Do:

We have an excellent opportunity for an Engineer-in-Training – Traffic in our Public Infrastructure department. The successful candidate will assist senior staff on engineering projects including traffic and safety analysis, development of design plans, pavement marking, signage, signal plans, technical specifications, estimates, reports, field data collection, and proposal and presentation support. You will work closely with other civil engineering disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Relevant internship or 1-4 years’ experience in Traffic Engineering; recent grads considered
• EIT preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD and Synchro preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office, HCS, and Vissim a plus
• Familiarity with MUTCD, HCM, HSM, and AASHTO standards a plus
• Experience with MassDOT standards and deliverables a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Organized with good time management skills
• Strong communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
