Job summary

Major Tool & Machine (MTM) in Indianapolis offers Engineers in Training a rotational program across Operations and Engineering to gain broad experience. The objective is to graduate to full-time process engineering after rotation.

You'll work under various managers, follow SOPs/WIs, and contribute to Lean manufacturing across the rotations. A BS degree is required, with strong reading of blueprints and good communication skills; on-site work in Indiana is expected.

Accountabilities

Accountable for understanding and following all SOPs and WIs related to job duties while supporting 6S and Lean Manufacturing concepts. Ensure all documentation, digital data and related internal communications are handled in an appropriate and timely manner. Ensure communications with all personnel occurs on a timely basis.

As defined by the position assignments in the rotation.

Job Qualification Requirements

Educational Experience

BS degree in technically related field.

Experience

Strong blueprint reading and computer skills. Strong organizational abilities and good communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be detail oriented, have problem solving ability. Must be able to work unsupervised and have initiative to follow through the steps required, working with all levels of the organization.

Physical Demands

The employee is required to:

• stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor,
• exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
• exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.

Visual Acuity

Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery.

Hearing Ability

Ability to communicate to customers and employees. Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

Working Conditions

• breathing fumes, dust and mist,
