Job summary

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) operates SkyCam in major sporting events. The Engineer in Charge (EIC) will supervise on-site deployment, ensure safety, coordinate with the Technical Operations team and clients, and mentor SkyCam crew.

The role requires hands-on engineering, field repair capability, and the ability to manage equipment and crews under tight schedules while traveling as needed. This is a contract position based in Fort Worth, Texas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in media, broadcasting, technical, engineering, or production.
• Proficient in MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Act as on-site manager for equipment and crew at an event and be the point of contact for other crews in the field.
• Interface with the client, venue operator or crew leaders to ensure safe installation.
• Provide guidance to and mentor SkyCam crew.
• Capable of field repairs and directing crew in setup and operation of equipment.
• Familiar with operation of all necessary tools and parts to assemble and rig the system.
• Work with NOC & TOM on deployment, maintenance and repair of systems.
• Communicate all technical needs and irregular operations to the NOC and TOM; provide final reports.

Nature of Work:

Under general supervision, the main duty of the Engineer in Charge (EIC) is to ensure the safe and effective deployment of the SkyCam system through sound processes and operations and effective communication between the Technical Operations manager and Sky-NOC.

Examples of work performed:

• Acts as on-site manager for equipment and crew at an event, and a point of contact for other crews/EICs in the field.
• Interfaces directly with the client, venue operator or other crew leaders to ensure safe and proper installation.
• Provides guidance to and mentoring of SkyCam crew.
• Capable of field repairs and directing other crew members with the setup and operation of the equipment.
• Familiar with the operation of all necessary tools and the various pieces and parts to assemble and rig the system.
• Works under the direction of the NOC & Technical Operations Manager regarding the deployment of the system and the maintenance and repair of the systems.
• Communicates all technical needs and irregular operations to the NOC and TOM
• Provides final report on all live events.
• Documents all deployments as required
• Manages and participates in site surveys.
• While on client job sites, responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  1. Equipment setup and operation.
  2. Crew.
  3. Interfacing with client and venue personnel.
  4. Equipment field repairs as directed by the Director of Engineering.
  5. Safe operation of equipment (weather, equipment breakdowns, etc.).
  6. Complete Tech report for each job.
  7. Report and directly communicate all equipment issues and recommendations to the CTO.
  8. Provide updates to site surveys as needed.
• Ensure all safety schedules and protocols are flowed including Pre-Flight, NOC, and flight parameters
• Participates in various meetings, as required, such as staff, operational and organizational meetings.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

• The noise in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Extensive domestic and international travel; must possess or able to obtain US Passport.
• Extremely high stress environment, fast-paced with multi-level distractions.
• Ability to work extended hours; nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Valid Driver’s License as required.
• of remote camera systems for live events and sports broadcasts. Including NFL, NBA, NHL, etc.

Qualifications

• Minimum

  2. A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in media, broadcasting, technical, engineering, or production industry. Proficient in the use of MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
