Job summary

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) is seeking a SkyCam Operator to join our live-event broadcast team in Fort Worth, TX. Under general supervision, you will ensure safe framing, focus and operation of SkyCam systems for exciting live shots during events, coordinating with Pilot, EIC, NOC and Technical Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Frame, Focus and provide stabilized acquisition of directed and undirected shots through use of remote heads and gimbals.
• Operate SkyCam system within the safe protocols and procedures established.
• Interface directly with the Pilot, EIC, and Technical Operations Manager and NOC to ensure safe and proper installation.
• Capable of flying and orienting and positioning SkyCam system for camera operators live events.
• Familiar with the operation of all necessary tools and the various pieces and parts to assemble and rig the system.
• Works under the direction of the NOC & Technical Operations Manager regarding the deployment of the system and the maintenance and repair of the systems.
• Communicates all technical needs and irregular operations to the onsite Pilot, EIC, NOC and TOM.
• Attends Camera meetings and represents safe capabilities to clients.
• While on client job sites, responsibilities include, but not limited to: Equipment setup and operation; Interfacing with client and venue personnel; Safe operation of equipment; Report and directly communicate all equipment issues and recommendations to the Pilot, EIC, TOM and NOC; Provide updates to site surveys as needed.
• Ensure all safety schedules and protocols are flowed including Pre-Flight, NOC, and flight parameters

Nature of Work

Under general supervision, the main duty of the SkyCam Operator is to ensure the safe and effective framing, focus and operation of the SkyCam system delivering the most exciting shots to live-event broadcasts through sound processes and operations and effective communication between the Pilot, EIC, Technical Operations manager and Sky-NOC.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• The noise in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Extensive domestic and international travel; must possess or able to obtain US Passport.
• Extremely high stress environment, fast-paced with multi-level distractions.
• Ability to work extended hours; nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Valid Driver’s License as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum:
  • High school diploma required. High School or GED
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible experience in remote camera/ pan/tilt head operation, aircraft operation and control, drone operation and control, and/or a strong background preferably in media, broadcasting, technical, IT, engineering, or production industry.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Windows and an understanding of basic electronics and networking is a must.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
• Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (AS or Technical School acceptable).
  • Skilled in the use of remote heads, gimbals, drones and camera systems.
  • Must have the ability to manage through complex situations in a professional manner.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a strong work ethic.
  • Skilled in the use of computers.
  • Electrically and mechanically inclined, proficient with hand tools and electrical test equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Possesses good analytical and creative skills.
  • Strong communications skills and eagerness to collaborate with different people.
  • Comfort with working in a rapidly changing environment and open to innovative ideas.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
  • Extensive domestic and international travel; must possess or able to obtain US Passport.
