Job summary

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma and one year of related experience in media, broadcasting, or engineering. Proficiency with MS Windows and Office Suite is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Nature of Work:

Under general supervision, the main duty of the 2ndEngineer/ Broadcast Engineer is to ensure the safe and effective deployment of the SkyCam system through sound processes and operations and effective communication between the EIC, Technical Operations manager and Sky-NOC.

Examples of work performed:

• Acts as a supporting role for the on-site EIC.


• Interfaces directly with the client, venue operator or other crew leaders to ensure safe and proper installation.


• Capable of taking directions and executing plans as directed regarding setup and operation of SkyCam equipment.


• Works under the direction of the EIC, NOC & Technical Operations Manager regarding the safe deployment of the system and the maintenance and repair of the systems.


• Communicates all technical needs and irregular operations to the EIC NOC and TOM.


• Documents and delivers to Director of Operations all pictures and documentation of deployments as required.


• While on client job sites, responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  
  
  
  • Equipment setup and operation.
  
  
  • Equipment field repairs as directed by the EIC.
  
  
  • Safe operation of equipment (weather, equipment breakdowns, etc.).
  
  
  • Provide clear communication to EIC at all times.
  
  
  • Developing a greater understanding and leadership as it relates to SkyCam operations.
  
  
  
  


• Participate and follow all safety schedules and protocols including Pre-Flight, NOC, and flight parameters.


• Participates in various meetings, as required, such as staff, operational and organizational meetings.
