About the Role

Title: Regulatory Compliance Engineer (Engineer III, Sr.)

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical and economic evaluations, performance testing, and design and construction of new and existing facilities.
  • Perform research on new developments and apply a strong understanding of industry and operational requirements.
  • Provide regulatory compliance support for operations, engineering, and projects within the defined support area.
  • Coordinate with state and federal regulators to facilitate DOT PHMSA / State Agency inspections.
  • Engage with projects to perform design reviews ensuring DOT 192 / 195 compliance.
  • Complete regulatory DOT 192 / 195 assurance through internal audits and acquisition integration.
  • Review forms and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate accident notifications to the National Response Center and complete PHMSA accident reporting.
  • Research DOT rule‑making, state rule‑making, and regulatory interpretations to determine impacts on the organization.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that incorporate regulatory changes.
  • Supervise the work of others as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Anticipate customer needs; assess requirements and identify solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans, and meet training needs.
  • Champion processes, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Monitor and control costs and resources associated with projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university.
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and minimum seven (7) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry, plus P.E. certification.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with safety as a main priority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject area (preferred).
  • Project Management experience (preferred).
  • Minimum of 25% travel, sometimes with minimal notice.
