Job summary

Qualus is seeking an Engineer III - Electrical to support power system studies and protection coordination. You will work across departments in different geographies performing short circuit, arc flash, load flow, and harmonic analyses and present findings to internal and external customers.

The role emphasizes strong communication and project management to design cost-effective mitigation solutions and ensure reliable electrical systems for diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with power system studies including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash.
• Familiarity with low and medium voltage switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, panel boards, and disconnects for mitigation.
• Ability to develop study reports and communicate results and recommendations to customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform Short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies for commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and generation facilities using SKM, ETAP, and/or Easypower software
• Applies knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, panel boards, and disconnects to determine cost effective mitigation solutions from the results and recommendations of power system studies
• Develop study reports and communicate results and recommendations to customers
• Perform data collection activities
• Develop and/or implement arc flash mitigation designs

As Electrical Engineer you will work with several departments in different geographies to perform power system studies including short circuit and equipment evaluation, overcurrent coordination and protection, arc flash, load flow, motor starting, power quality, and harmonic analysis. Additionally, using strong communication and project management skills, you will present the results from these studies to internal and external customers, helping to design cost effective mitigation solutions.
