Job summary
City of Pasadena seeks an Engineer III (Graduate Engineer) to oversee advanced plan reviews for commercial, residential, and ROW projects. You will coordinate a team, supervise staff, and serve as liaison among applicants, internal departments, and external agencies.
The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, Texas EIT, floodplain credential, and strong knowledge of codes. Proficient with MS Word/Excel, valid Texas driver license, and willingness to perform field inspections and prepare
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; 1–3 years of experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification in Texas.
- Certified Floodplain Manager or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid Texas driver's license with good driving record.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and complete advanced technical plan reviews for civil projects.
- Supervise and mentor plan review staff.
- Coordinate with applicants, internal departments, and external agencies.
- Perform field inspections as needed to support plan review.
- Review FEMA elevation certificates and floodplain information.
- Prepare reports and correspondence for City records and meetings.
