Job summary

Riverside Hotel in Fort Lauderdale seeks an Engineer III to properly repair and maintain the property's assets and to provide leadership and support for the Mechanic I & II team.

You will receive daily work assignments from the Chief Engineer, organize materials and tools, maintain equipment, handle chemicals per hotel policies, and keep work areas clean and secure.

The role requires completing all paperwork, following up on assignments, and assisting with special projects as needed.

DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE
REPORTS TO: CHIEF ENGINEER

SUMMARY:

To properly repair and maintain the physical asset and provide general leadership and support for Mechanic I & II team workers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; extreme cold and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Receive daily work assignments from Chief Engineer and review priorities and special projects.
• Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments.
• Maintain for the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work areas.
• Handle chemicals according to hotel requirements.
• Ensure security of any assigned keys and beeper.
• Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
• Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving and review status of assignments and any follow-up with Chief Engineer.
• Assist with any special projects assigned.
