Job summary

The Las Olas Company / Riverside Hotel is seeking an Engineer III in Maintenance to repair and maintain the physical asset and provide leadership to Mechanic I & II staff. You will report to the Chief Engineer and help ensure continuous operations of hotel facilities.

On-site position requiring safety awareness, ability to handle chemicals, and responsibility for tool and area upkeep, daily task organization, and compliance with hotel policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in facility maintenance or trades is preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receive daily work assignments from Chief Engineer and review priorities.
• Organize materials, tools and equipment for daily tasks.
• Maintain tools, supplies and their storage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Handle chemicals according to hotel requirements.
• Ensure security of assigned keys and beeper.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel and department policies.
• Complete paperwork and closing duties and review status with Chief Engineer.
• Assist with special projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION: ENGINEER III
DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE
REPORTS TO: CHIEF ENGINEER

SUMMARY:

To properly repair and maintain the physical asset and provide general leadership and support for Mechanic I & II team workers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; extreme cold and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
