Job summary

The Riverside Hotel in Fort Lauderdale seeks an Engineer III to repair, maintain the physical asset and lead Mechanic I & II teams. Located on the Las Olas corridor, this role supports day-to-day operations and capital projects, with a focus on reliability and safety.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the position coordinates daily tasks, ensures proper tool and materials management, and upholds hotel policies. This role also involves maintenance of facilities and documentation of activities.

Responsibilities

• Receive daily work assignments from Chief Engineer and review priorities.
• Organize materials, tools and equipment for daily assignments.
• Maintain proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of tools and supplies.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Handle chemicals according to hotel requirements.
• Protect security of assigned keys and beeper.
• Follow all hotel and department policies and procedures.
• Complete paperwork and close out assignments in a timely manner.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

To properly repair and maintain the physical asset and provide general leadership and support for Mechanic I & II team workers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; extreme cold and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving and review status of assignments and any follow-up with Chief Engineer.
