The Environmental Services Department is currently seeking an entry-level Engineer (RECENT GRADUATE) to protect and improve the quality of Springfield area streams and lakes through wastewater collection systems or water quality stormwater projects. In this role, you will perform duties related to improving water quality and wastewater through project design and management, analyze watershed and water quality data, assist and learn from other engineers in the department, and perform other engineering assignments. Engineer II

Experience, Education, and Training

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related area;

AND

• Two years of progressively responsible experience;
• A Master's Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one year of the required work experience;
• Work experience must be commensurate with assigned specialty area for required vacancy.

Licensing/Certification

• Must possess a valid Driver's License;
• Engineering Intern (EI) certification is required.

Engineer I

Experience, Education, and Training

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering discipline providing appropriate engineering education related to the specialty area with current vacancy.

Licensing/Certification

• If operating a motor vehicle for the purpose of completing job duties, must possess a valid Driver's License;
• Must possess Engineering Intern (EI) certification upon hire for Engineer II level OR acquire within probationary period for the Engineer I level.

Engineer II - Salary Range $57,782.40 - $102,668.80 Annually

Engineer I - Salary Range $53,144.00 - $94,452.80 Annually
