Job summary

Vermeer Corporation seeks a software engineer to design and deliver machine-centered applications with strong testing and maintainable code. You will work in an agile team, collaborating cross-functionally to meet customer needs and maintain quality through CI/CD practices.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and hands-on experience with C#, HTML, TypeScript/JavaScript, and C/C++. Remote-friendly with some on-site collaboration and a bias toward high-quality software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or related field.
• Knowledge of C#, HTML, TypeScript/JavaScript, and C/C++ is required.
• Basic understanding of cloud app development, deployment, debugging, and REST APIs.
• Proficiency with scripting languages and data formats: PowerShell, Python, Bash, JSON, YAML.
• Familiar with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and source control (Git, Azure Repo).
• Exposure to RTOS, Ubuntu, Android, and iOS is beneficial.
• Knowledge of unit and End-to-End software testing.
• A desire to learn cloud components and cloud provider features.
• Awareness of Agile software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering value by designing and delivering software using established techniques like pair programming and Test Driven Development.
• Assist in maintaining CI/CD steps to deliver changes with high-quality confidence.
• Collaborate with other developers and engineers (internal or external) using pair programming, mob sessions, or developer events.
• Assist in creating and maintaining all necessary application and program documentation.

Job Summary

In this role, you will build machine-centered applications that are highly tested and align with solid coding standards. We’re looking for team members with strong technical skills who can work cross-functionally within an agile development team.

What You’ll Do

1. Assist in delivering value to customers by designing and delivering software and solutions using accepted programming techniques and standards such as pair programming and Test Driven Development.
2. Assist in maintaining all necessary CI/CDsteps to deliver changes with high confidence of quality and streamlined effort.
3. Collaborate with other developers and engineers (either internal or external) using techniques like pair programming, developer community events, or mob sessions.
4. Assist in creating and maintaining all necessary application and program documentation.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of C#, HTML, Typescript/Javascript, and C/C++ is required.
• Basic understanding of developing, deploying, debugging, and/or consuming cloud applications and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of scripting languages and data serialization formats, including PowerShell, Python, Bash, JSON, and YAML.
• Familiar with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), source code version control tools (such as Git, Azure Repo), and distribution pipeline to deploy applications.
• Exposure to one or more operating systems, such as RTOS, Ubuntu, Android, and iOS.
• Knowledge of unit and End-to-End software testing.
• Desire to learn about key cloud components and key features of cloud service providers.
• Awareness of Agile software development methodologies

- Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

REMOTE: A team member’s day-to-day work may be best completed from a location other than a Vermeer campus. There will be instances where the work requires time spent on a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager. Remote team members are eligible for business-related reimbursements per the work location policy.
