Job summary

Silver Wings Aerospace in Princeton, FL seeks a full-time on-site Project Manager for multiple engineering projects, reverse engineering, and technical writing. Experience with SolidWorks and FAA documentation is essential; work will be conducted at our Princeton, FL facility.

Responsibilities include reverse engineering and repair of aircraft components, creating CAD designs, and developing tooling and documentation packages for FAA submissions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • SolidWorks or 3D CAD software experience required.
  • Ability to understand regulatory requirements for airworthiness (FAA/foreign authorities).
  • Experience in quality control and new product development within aviation.

Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft components (electrical and mechanical) using manual/automatic measuring equipment.
  • Establish measurement tolerances using industry practices and review of next-higher assemblies.
  • Create, revise, and review designs using SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
  • Assist in creating Repair Process Documentation Packages for FAA and customers.
  • Develop tools for aircraft maintenance and testing.
  • Develop test and tooling equivalency with supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with design teams to evaluate and modify techniques and procedures to solve problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Overview of the Position:

Provides project management of multiple engineering projects, reverse engineering, and technical writing.

  • This is for a full time on site position based out of our Princeton, FL facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reverse engineer, troubleshoot, and repair of various aircraft components, both electrical and mechanical, using manual and automatic measuring equipment.
  • Establish measurement tolerances using accepted industry practices and/or review of next higher assemblies.
  • Create, revise, and review designs using Solidworks 3D CAD Software
  • Assist in creating Repair Process Supporting Documentation Packages for submittal to the FAA and/or customers.
  • Develop tools for aircraft maintenance.
  • Develop test and tooling equivalency with supporting documentation.
  • Research, collect data, and work with design teams to evaluate, select, adapt, and modify techniques, procedures and criteria to solve problems.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Further knowledge and witnessed practice of company core values.
  • Knowledge of industry related sales and marketing principles.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Has an understanding of both the Repair Station and Design and Development quality manuals
  • Ability to understand regulatory requirements for airworthiness for FAA and various foreign authorities.
  • Experience in the quality control and new product development within the aviation industry.
Education / Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering; or demonstrated equivalent as determined by the hiring manager.
  • Solidworks or 3D CAD Software experience, required.
