Larson Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Engineer I - Civil in Minnesota. This entry-level role focuses on applying standard techniques and building foundational skills under supervision from the Department Manager.

You will perform defined portions of projects, run basic analyses, and potentially observe construction activities to support understanding, while growing professionally and adhering to professional ethics.

Qualifications

• FE exam passed or in the process of obtaining.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Ability to follow direction and learn.
• Openness to internships or field exposure preferred.

Position Overview

The Engineer I - Civilis an entry-level position for professional engineering work, focused on developing foundational knowledge and skills. This individual performs assignments that apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria across a sequence of related tasks. They apply basic judgment in the application of established methods and in selecting among basic engineering alternatives, while building technical capability within the discipline.

The Engineer I - Civil reports to the Department Manager, and is expected to demonstrate an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities and continues to grow in both knowledge and practical application.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs defined portions of broader engineering assignments using established methods and guidance from experienced engineers
• Performs standard computations and analysis
• May participate in site visits or observe construction activities to support project understanding
• Submits work to the Project Manager for QA/QC review and incorporates feedback as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam – or is in the process of obtaining
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil)
• Ability to follow direction
• Willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to engineering project work through internships, coursework, or field experience
• Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
• Strong communication and organizational skills
