Larson Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer - Structural to perform engineering assignments and develop technical expertise within a structural practice.

The role involves leading projects, coordinating teams of engineers and technicians, and mentoring junior staff while ensuring adherence to safety standards and project budgets. Reporting to the Department Manager, the position emphasizes professional growth and applying standard engineering practices to deliver quality results

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• 4+ years of engineering experience (or 3+ years with a Master's degree in engineering).
• Experience independently leading projects or managing defined scopes of work.
• Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
• Exposure to project budgeting, scheduling, and financial tracking.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and executes engineering projects with standard scope and features.
• Coordinates the work of engineers, designers, and technicians on assigned projects.
• Supports the development of junior engineers and designers through training and guidance.
• Prepares fee proposals for standard project types with Department Manager approval.
• Manages project performance, including budget and schedule and overall results.
• Ensures compliance with design safety standards across assigned projects.

Position Overview

The Project Engineer - Structural performs engineering assignments designed to build professional knowledge and skills, applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria across a range of related tasks. They exercise sound judgment in making decisions on routine engineering problems, seeking guidance on more complex issues as needed. This person utilizes established engineering practices effectively while continuing to develop technical expertise within a specific practice area.

The Project Engineer reports to the Department Manager, and demonstrates a growing understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities and typically contributes to standard projects.
