MDS Staffing is seeking an Engineer I - Civil for an entry-level role focused on foundational knowledge and skills. You will develop under supervision, applying standard techniques and criteria across related tasks, building technical capability in the civil discipline.

The position emphasizes ethical responsibilities and ongoing growth, reporting to the Department Manager. Ideal candidates will have an FE exam in progress or completed and a Civil Engineering degree, with a willingness to learn

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• FE exam completed or in progress.
• Ability to follow direction and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Internships/field experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform portions of assignments using established methods and guidance from experienced engineers.
• Perform standard computations and analysis.
• May participate in site visits or observe construction activities to support project understanding.
• Submit work to the Project Manager for QA/QC review and incorporate feedback as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Engineer I - Civil

Position Overview

The Engineer I - Civil is an entry-level position for professional engineering work, focused on developing foundational knowledge and skills. This individual performs assignments that apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria across a sequence of related tasks. They apply basic judgment in the application of established methods and in selecting among basic engineering alternatives, while building technical capability within the discipline.

The Engineer I - Civil reports to the Department Manager, and is expected to demonstrate an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities and continues to grow in both knowledge and practical application.
