Job summary

The Westin Nashville is seeking an entry-level Engineer I to help maintain a safe, comfortable hotel environment for guests and team members. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to work orders, and support with preventative programs under the guidance of the Engineering leadership.

This role suits someone eager to learn, dependable, and ready to develop hotel engineering skills while contributing to exceptional guest experiences and smooth operations across the property.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level role focusing on hands-on maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC).
  • Respond to guest requests and maintenance work orders promptly.
  • Conduct routine inspections and report concerns to Engineering leadership.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs to protect hotel assets.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of engineering workspaces and tools.
  • Support meeting room setups and events as required.
  • Assist exterior property maintenance and other duties as assigned.

Working alongside an experienced Engineering team, you will assist with the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of hotel systems and facilities while gaining valuable knowledge and experience in hospitality operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, furniture, flooring, and HVAC-related tasks.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and maintenance work orders.
  • Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance concerns to Engineering leadership.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs to support hotel operations and protect hotel assets.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of engineering workspaces, tools, and equipment.
  • Support meeting room setups, special events, and other operational needs as required.
  • Assist with exterior property maintenance and other duties assigned by Engineering leadership.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
