Job summary

The HVAC Engineer at Golden Nugget Las Vegas is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing all HVAC and mechanical equipment on the property. You will also ensure a high level of guest service that aligns with KEEP brand standards and core values.

You will read schematics and diagrams, diagnose issues, and perform repairs on boilers, chillers, air handlers, pumps, and stand-by generators. Weekend/on-call work and holidays may be required to keep the property operating smoothly.

Qualifications

  • 3 years journeyman HVAC/mechanical experience
  • EPA certification required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends
  • Must be able to work on call for emergencies

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair HVAC and mechanical equipment across property
  • Read schematics, diagnose issues, repair equipment (air handlers, boilers, chillers)
  • Water treatment and cooling tower maintenance
  • Operate and repair pumps, generators and pressurized systems
  • Respond to fire alarms and service requests
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff and management

Job description

Overview

It is the responsibility of the HVAC Engineer is to maintain, troubleshoot and repair all HVAC and mechanical equipment on property. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company`s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. - Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities
  • Must know how to read schematics and wiring diagrams, troubleshoot and repair all types of commercial equipment, must know basic electricity and plumbing.
  • HVAC heating and cooling, vent and air conditioning maintenance and repair. Repair air handlers, VAV boxes.
  • Water treatment of cooling towers, boilers, water softeners, closed loop systems.
  • Maintenance of boiler and chiller operation and associated equipment.
  • Respond to fire alarms.
  • Maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment and ice machines.
  • Operation and repair of stand-by generators.
  • Maintenance and repair of pumps and pressurized water systems.
  • Must be willing to work holidays and weekends.
  • Must be able to work on call for emergencies, holidays and weekends.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Ability to manage employees, training and coaching skills with evidence of developing exceptionally motivated teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required; Spa Soft experience preferred.
  • Related degree preferred.
  • 3 years Journeyman HVAC/Mechanical experience.
  • Minimum age requirement is 21.
  • Must have EPA certification.
  • Computer skills.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.
