Job summary

FALL CREEK FARM & NURSERY is seeking an Engineer Field to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. Under the Project Manager, you will plan and coordinate telecommunications construction activities to meet schedule, budget, and customer standards.

You will perform on-site visits, draft installation specifications, advise clients during deployment, and update records using CAD tools. This entry-level role demands a strong work ethic and the ability to work long hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in similar position.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment.
  • Work knowledge of AutoCAD, Myriad, or similar drawing programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with previous engineering or telecommunications experience, BSEE preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Research and review telecommunication system requirements and generate detailed installation specifications adhering to industry and customer standards.
  • Schedule and perform on-site visits to collect information on telecom network build-out/removal.
  • Advise clients during all deployment phases.
  • Formulate Bill of Materials.
  • Update site records with CAD systems (AutoCAD).
  • Interface with management across sales, operations, engineering, installation and procurement services.
  • Assist installation and customer engineering with issue resolution.
  • Adhere to engineering milestones defined by customer/management.
  • Participate in non-customer related projects to benefit corporate development.

Under the direction of the Project Manager as a Field Engineer you will contribute to the planning and coordination of activities of assigned telecommunications construction projects to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within the required schedule, on budget and meeting customer standards and specifications.

What you’ll do
  • You will use discretion and independent judgment to research and review telecommunication system requirements and generate detailed installation specifications adhering to both industry and customer standards.
  • You will schedule and perform on-site visits to collect specific information on telecommunication network build-out and/or removal.
  • You will actively advise clients during all phases of deployment.
  • You will formulate Bill of Materials.
  • You will update site specific customer office records with the use of computer aided drawing systems (i.e. AutoCAD)
  • You will interface with all levels of management in sales, operations, engineering, installation and procurement services.
  • You will assist installation and customer engineering with the resolution of project issues.
  • You will adhere to all engineering milestones defined by the customer and/or management.
  • You will participate in non-customer related projects which benefit corporate development.
What you’ll need
  • You have 3 years’ experience in similar position
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs
  • You have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • You have the ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment
  • You have work knowledge of AutoCAD, Myriad, or similar drawing programs, miscellaneous web-based programs and general file structure.
  • You can establish priorities, problem solve, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • You can express complex technical concepts effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • You must be willing to work a minimum of 50 hours per week including nights and weekends as requested by the Engineering Manager. –
  • You may have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with previous engineering or telecommunications experience, BSEE preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
  • May be required to work after hours on weekends or be on-call as work is needed.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.

Physical & Safety Requirements and the Working Environment:

  • Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
  • The noise level in the work environment for this position is low to moderate.
  • Employees performing these job functions may be required to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds in a shift.
  • Employees may be exposed to adverse and various weather conditions which can include extreme hot or cold temperatures, icy or wet roads, rain, snow or sleet, changes in terrain, urban or rural settings.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Range:The Engineer Field position pays a salary wage of $55K - $98K a year, depending on experience.
