Job summary

Pauley Construction, LLC is seeking an entry-level Lineman I Telecom in Tucson, AZ to support aerial cable installation and maintenance. The role involves climbing poles, operating bucket trucks, and complying with safety policies while delivering reliable telecom infrastructure services.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background and drug screenings. Training and potential overtime may be required to meet project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable.
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders and safety gear.
  • Safely operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators and related equipment.
  • Set up safety perimeter with signage, cones and barriers.
  • Flag traffic when required and follow regulatory guidelines.
  • Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders; maintain safe working habits.

What you’ll do
  • Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
  • Safely operate mechanized equipment such as; bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more
  • Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers
  • Flag traffic when required
  • Understand separation and clearance regulations
  • Safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
  • Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies.
What you’ll need
  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
  • May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.
  • May include working nights and holidays as needed.
  • May be required to travel in state or overnight as necessary to meet business and job requirements.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry
  • Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
  • You are able to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet
  • You are able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as; pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)
  • You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance.
  • Must know the color code system for cable pairs or be willing to learn
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with internal and external customers
  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with product vendors and customers.

Pay Range:The Lineman I Telecom hourly wage range is $25.00 - $30.00 depending on experience.
