Job summary

GE Aerospace is looking for an Electromechanical Engineer in Loves Park, IL. You will join a respected team to develop high-reliability electrical and mechanical products for the aerospace industry. Job Description

As an Electromechanical Engineer with GE Aerospace, you will work as part of a highly respected team of Engineers and Designers developing solutions and high‑reliability electrical and mechanical products for the aerospace industry. This full‑time, onsite role is located in Loves Park, IL and involves a sustaining engineering focus while also completing on‑time designs from initial concepts through final qualification and production release.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Interact closely with engineers from Product design, New Technology design, Analysis and Manufacturing to collaborate on problem solving and new designs.
  • Electrical component problem solving and design (e.g., Electric Motor, RVDT, Resolver).
  • Mechanical component problem solving and design.
  • Build and test custom electronic test equipment assemblies.
  • Design custom electronic test equipment assemblies.
  • Select alternate electronic parts/materials and provide substantiation.
  • Manage obsolescence.
  • Repair or refurbish existing fixture designs.
  • Implement design changes and conduct design‑change analysis, planning, and testing.
  • Establish and confirm interface characteristics between components with component owners of mating or interfacing parts.
  • Use judgment to propose alternate solutions outside set parameters for complex manufacturing processes, leveraging internal and limited external resources.
  • Provide expertise to less experienced colleagues, and may lead small projects with low risk and resource requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of engineering and/or design experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering and/or design experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of electric motor problem solving and design experience.
Desired Characteristics
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with electric motor, RVDT, resolver, and electric component problem solving and design.
  • Experience with mechanical problem solving and design.
  • Teamwork across functions and with suppliers.
  • Familiarity with root‑cause corrective action tools (e.g., Tops8D).
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD.
  • Experience with engineering change processes.
  • Knowledge of aerospace qualification.
  • Understanding of electronic controllers, flow control valves, and electric motors.
Pay and Benefits
  • Base pay range: $105,600 – $145,000.
  • Annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of base salary.
