Overview
Job Purpose
The Data Center Operations Engineer (DCOE) is primarily responsible in ensuring that all activities carried out in the Data Center & Access Center's conform to Data Center Procedures and industry best practice.
The DCOE will carry out Data Center works as directed, these works could be project based or tasks received via incident management or workflow management tools. In all cases the DCOE will ensure that Change Control rules are followed and support documentation is appropriate and correct.
The role is will also be responsible for carrying out daily checks in their areas of responsibility, ensuring security is maintained, managing third parties and ensuring all work activity is captured and updates entered into the Data Center management tool, or into the workflow management/incident management tool, Service Now.
Support and execute all Data Center capacity management for cables and hardware on behalf of the Data Center Engineering & Operations team such that each item is recorded in a central database/spread sheet; this will be done for ICE and ICE colocation customers.
