Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an experienced engineer to deliver advanced technical leadership both in the office and on site. You will solve complex engineering problems and guide project work with minimal supervision, leveraging deep domain knowledge and field experience.

Required are 4–8 years of engineering practice and a Professional Engineer license; drivers license and project-management know-how are essential. This role includes travel to job sites and strict safety focus.

Job description

Position Overview:

This is the third level of the Engineering classification where you will provide engineering/technical expertise to solve more complex problems and provide leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision. You are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently.

Essential Functions:

Under minimal supervision, in the area of expertise will provide:

• Engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems


• Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities


• Detailed and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches


• Continuous improvement of job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance


• Maintain accurate records and files

Minimum Requirements:

• Regular attendance is required


• 4 to 8 years of experience as a practicing engineer or state registration as a Professional Engineer


• Proficient in engineering theories and principles


• Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations

Other Abilities:

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this role.

This position combines office and field work. In the office, it involves regular sitting, frequent computer and tool use, and continuous communication. In the field, employees work in outdoor environments such as roadside areas and construction sites, often on uneven terrain and in varying weather conditions.

The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform activities such as reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, or kneeling, and lift up to 10 pounds regularly. Visual abilities including close and distance vision, color distinction, peripheral vision, and depth perception are necessary.

Regular travel to job sites, including occasional overnight stays and emergency response work, may be required. A strong focus on safety, adaptability, and teamwork is essential.
