Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking a Power Engineering Technologist to provide advanced technical expertise in analyzing design alternatives for power distribution projects. The role emphasizes knowledge of customer design workflows and mentoring less experienced team members while ensuring safety and reliability in all solutions.

The position involves on-site work, collaboration with construction teams and clients, and participation in storm restoration as needed.

Qualifications

Regular attendance is required.
High School Diploma or GED (some projects may require an Associate degree).
3–5 years of experience in utility power distribution engineering or related craft work.

Responsibilities

Interpret codes and develop complex overhead and underground distribution designs across multiple areas.
Develop detailed project packages including material lists, requisitions, site layouts and drawings.
Collaborate with construction teams, clients, and customers to resolve design and job-site challenges with clear communication.
Evaluate equipment loading, power quality and reliability to deliver safe, compliant solutions.
Perform field assessments to validate system conditions and customer needs, building strong relationships.
Support training and development of less experienced team members and participate in storm restoration activities as needed.
