Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies seeks a SCADA Engineer for an on-site hybrid assignment in Vacaville, CA. The 10-month project requires supporting EMS systems, SCADA front ends, and related applications, with occasional SCADA modeling and testing.

Responsibilities include creating and maintaining EMS displays, providing end-user support, and coordinating with vendors under EMS Leadership. Local candidates only. Must be eligible to work through the duration.

Qualifications

  • 0-1 years of experience working with computer or information systems.
  • 0-1 years of work experience supporting testing and troubleshooting on EMS systems, SCADA front ends, communications, and supporting applications.

Responsibilities

  • Create, configure, and maintain displays for end users.
  • Manage displays for all EMS and Training Simulator applications.
  • Provide hardware and technology support for end users.
  • Provide backup support to maintain Operating diagrams.
  • Provide EMS team initiative and project support related to project requirements, documentation, implementation, or other aspects as directed by EMS Leadership.
  • Supports vendor coordination as directed by EMS Leadership.
  • Participate in weekly Team calls to plan work and resolve issues.
  • May perform testing and troubleshooting on EMS systems, including SCADA model, SCADA front-ends, communications, and supporting applications.
  • Perform UI changes as necessary to support SCADA point to point testing.

Job description

SCADA Engineer

Location: Vacaville, CA (2 weeks a week)

Duration: 10 months

Local candidates only

Work location in Vacaville. Assignment is hybrid and required on-site twice a week. Candidates must be eligible to work for the entire duration of the assignment without interruption.

Equipment

Client laptop will be provided. Must provide personal cellphone, supplier provided dual monitors, docking station, mouse and keyboard.

Must Haves
  • Education, background on Electric Grid, and local to area.
  • 0-1 years’ experience working with computer or information systems.
  • 0-1 years of work experience supporting testing and troubleshooting on EMS systems, SCADA front ends, communications, and supporting applications.
Degree Requirement
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Competitive candidates must have strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Competitive candidates should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to take initiative.
  • Experience with Microsoft Professional Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, Visio).
Responsibilities
  • Create, configure, and maintain displays for end users. Regularly update displays to ensure alignment with the EMS models, end user requests, and field conditions.
  • Manage displays for all EMS and Training Simulator applications.
  • Provide hardware and technology support for end users.
  • Provide backup support to maintain Operating diagrams.
  • Provide EMS team initiative and project support related to project requirements, documentation, implementation, or other aspects as directed by EMS Leadership.
  • Supports vendor coordination as directed by EMS Leadership.
  • Participate in weekly Team calls to plan work and resolve issues.
  • Will perform display work, but might be involved in SCADA modeling, troubleshooting of SCADA communications, SCADA controls.
  • May perform testing and troubleshooting on EMS systems, including SCADA model, SCADA front-ends, communications, and supporting applications.
  • Perform UI changes as necessary to support SCADA point to point testing.
