Job summary

DoubleTree Alpharetta is seeking a capable Maintenance Engineer to handle guest requests and keep hotel equipment in top condition. You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems and related facilities, while ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the property in Roswell, GA.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in building maintenance, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade courses helpful.
• Two years' maintenance experience in a hotel or building setting.
• Ability to maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and basic carpentry.
• Good communication with management, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Respond to engineering service calls, prioritizing guest requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair hotel equipment (kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical).
• Take water samples on boiler loops and monitor chemical levels.
• Operate equipment and monitor domestic water systems; ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Make rounds, complete maintenance requests, and log readings for shift handover.
• Respond to emergencies (fire alarms, power failures) and assist with boiler/chiller temperatures.
• Assist with parking lot maintenance and snow removal; perform special projects.

Ensure a safe, resourceful, and well-maintained hotel environment.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIESRespond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain predetermined levels of chemical concentration.Operate various equipment; maintain the domestic hot and cold-water systems and monitor various electrical switch gears to ensure proper operation.Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces as well as other assigned daily operations.Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain log to notify the next shift.Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.Handle operation of the boiler and chiller and maintaining temperatures throughout the building.Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed.Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESHigh school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.PHYSICAL DEMANDSLift/Push/Pull/Carry - up to 50 -75 plus lbs. supplies, equipment and machinery. Bending - required to perform inspections and repairs frequently throughout shift. Kneeling- required to perform inspections and repairs frequently throughout shift.
