Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests courteously and efficiently in a safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment (kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical, guest rooms).
• Monitor and cover engineering functions when full staff is not available (weekends/evenings).
• Respond to emergencies including fire alarms, threats, disasters, and power failures; notify authorities.
• Audit rounds to ensure systems are in working order and document parts used and needed.
• Maintain logs and records; assist with parking lot maintenance and snow removal as needed.

Job Details:

Level: Experienced, Job Location: DoubleTree Dallas Near the Galleria - Dallas, TX, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: 4 Year Degree, Salary Range: Undisclosed, BASIC PURPOSE: Carry a portable radio, staying in constant communication with the central base station, respond to all engineering service calls, giving priority to guest requests, and maintain hotel equipment in a efficient, safe, accident-free manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner. (30%)
2. Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs an all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms. (25%)
3. Monitor and maintain all engineering functions when full engineering staff is not available (i.e weekends and evenings). (10%)
4. Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities. (5%)
5. Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order. (5%)
6. Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas. (5%)
7. Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings and maintain log to notify the next shift. (5%)
8. Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased. (5%)
9. Handle elevator breakdowns. (3%)
10. Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering. (2%)

Knowledge and Skills:
